Why Microchip?

Get a microchip for your pet! Microchips are implanted via a simple, inexpensive injection, and go right under the skin. Our chips are good for your pet’s lifetime, and are read everywhere in the USA and in most foreign countries, too. You can go on line and update you and/or your pet’s information, upload a photo, print a quick lost pet poster if needed, and much more. A microchip is easy for your pet and for you, and will help prevent your pet from getting permanently lost or separated from you. The cost is about $75.00 per pet.

Microchips are recommended for all pets, but especially for cats. Why? Studies show that lost cats with microchips are returned to their owners more than 80% of the time, while lost cats without chips are returned safely to their owners less than 20% of the time! Also, most cats live indoors and do not know how to cope with getting outside; if there is an accident (consruction workers let the cat escape, or a tree comes down on your home, or there is a fire, etc.), your indoor cat is likely to run and not know how to get back home.

Microchips are modern technology but they are not a GPS or Lo-Jack - pets must be scanned by a special reader that is passed right over the skin. The reader picks up the chip number, which is called in or entered in via computer, and your name will come up as the registered owner. So, make sure you keep your pet's microchip database up to date with current phone numbers, email addresses, etc.!  For more details, go to www.HomeAgain.com.
