Exercise and your dog
Most puppies and adult dogs need lots more exercise than they get. Youngsters should be running an hour a day; adult dogs at least 30 minutes each day. Except for toy breeds, this means you’ll need wheels so you can go faster (unless you are a runner, too)! Try roller blades or a scooter. Also, playtime (running around by themselves or with a companion dog) does not count as exercise – this is play! For details and suggestions, see our handout “Exercise and Your Dog”.
