We've Had Baxter a week!

Well, he's been with us a week now and things have changed quite a bit. We are actually getting some sleep! For 2 nights in a row he has slept 8 hours without a peep and with no accidents. Lots better than the previous nights when we were up 4 times, or he howled for hours. Man he can be LOUD.

Of course we discovered that he walked right through the bars on the new gate we bought for our kitchen (he's only 3# and about 2.5" wide). Dave spent a few hours today cutting and attaching thin sheets of rigid plastic so now we have a Baxter-proof gate (we hope).

The other big change is how Madison is getting along with Baxter. Our Maddie has not had a playmate since she was a puppy herself, and was not thrilled with the new puppy when she met him. She eyed him out of the corner of her eye, inched away, and gave us a look like "I don't believe you did this!" After 3 days, she started to play a little with him, and now they wrestle and play for hours each day. It's great for both of them!
